滑雪勝地景觀

Here comes winter! Whenever the weather turns cold, it makes me think back to the freezing weather and the amazing scenery in Japan. Last time, I went to Japan during the winter vacation. It was the first time I touch the real snow. The place my family went this time was a snowfield in the suburban area of Tokyo called Echigo-Yuzawa. On the way there, the transform of the view was incredible. From the city to the countryside, from no snow to heavy snow, from exciting to delighting, we were taken from Tokyo to Echigo-Yuzawa by the fast-moving Shinkansen.

When I got down from the Shinkansen, the freezing wind blew towards me. After stepping out of the station, I saw snow swept into small piles. Then I immediately ran over to grab a hand of snow and throw it into my brother’s back. We played excitingly and waited for the coming of the shuttle bus. On the bus to the hotel, there were tall snow walls on the two sides of the road, which was really impressive! To see farther, the trees and mountains were all covered with snow, which let them turn all their color into white.

The view in the hotel is even more surprising! Since the hotel is combined with the snowing field, the playing field and the skiing field were just behind the building we lived. When looking out from the window of our room, we could only see the floating snow and the white ground downward. Then, it’s time to jump in the snow! Unfortunately, at that moment, we realized that we left our snowsuit in the suitcase we left in care in Tokyo. However, we can still borrow them from the hotel. Forgetting this ridiculous interlude, it is really the time to play.

First of all, my brother and I laid down on the snow and made the snow angle! It was always been my dream since I was only a little girl. Although our back was a bit cold, it was relaxing and comfortable to lay on the snow and be embraced by the snow. Secondly, let’s have a snowball fight! We borrowed two pieces of equipment for the fight, a green snowball machine and a blue one. Then, the fight started, we made about 50 balls and threw them towards each other and also towards our mom and dad. In addition, we also rode on the plastic sled and slid down from the top of a slope. The speed was not fast at all but was interesting enough for beginners like me.

It was my first time playing in the snow. I am looking forward to the second meet with the snow, and I want to try the snowboard next time! Snowing is my favorite weather in the world. Even though it may be inconvenient to live in those snowing places, I still love the scenery of snow and I wish I could see it in person soon.
